Branding Marketing materials Apparel Website design The Drunken Mare is an bar hire company which started their business as a mobile horse box but have since added a second portable bar, prosecco wall and cocktail delivery service, with further plans to expand. The Drunken Mare team initially approached me to create a logo and branding for their business that would make them stand out from the competition. I set out to create a logo that was memorable and distinct, and that captured the sense of humour of the owners and the name of the business itself. The development of a drunken horseshoe became the basis of the brand and was incorporated into the logo. This then gave them the opportunity to pull this out and use in isolation across collateral. The colour palette is based on the colour of the van, with the addition of a navy and cream to give the brand a refined and modern look across all materials. Following on from the initial branding, I was engaged to design and develop their website, as well as business cards, marketing material, signage and uniforms. With the lockdown meaning their event hire business had to be put on hold, they set up a cocktail delivery service. They engaged me to create recipe cards and labels that would be delivered with the cocktails. It was important that these extras would elevate the brand and make the customer feel like they were getting a premium service that would hopefully lead on to repeat custom and possibly even the hiring of The Drunken Mare itself once lockdown had lifted. The result being that the cocktails were sold out on a weekly basis and, since lockdown has lifted, The Drunken Mare has had its best year yet, regularly being hired out to birthdays, weddings and festivals which has allowed them to expand their team and develop new event hire props and services, making them a recognised brand across the Gloucestershire area.
